Your donations, both received at our Restore locations as well as picked up by our Restore crews is instrumental in providing Macon/Jackson NC Habitat for Humanity with the revenues to continue to furnish safe and affordable housing to deserving families while keeping usable goods out of the landfill.

Call Us to Pick up your Large Donated items:

We will gladly come to you and pick up donated items anywhere in the Macon/Jackson NC County area. Pick-up service is available by calling our Macon County Restore at (828) 524-5273 to make arrangements. Or, drop your items off at the ReStore during normal business hours.

In Jackson County:
Sylva Restore, 1315 W. Main St.: Open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm

In Macon County:
Franklin Restore, 56 W. Palmer St.: Open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm

What We Accept

The ReStore accepts donations of good quality, working items in the following categories:

Antiques and Housewares

Art
Books

Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets (must have all doors and drawers)
Countertops
Complete bathroom vanities
Vanity tops 4’ or less

Flooring

Wood flooring – 20 sq ft or more
New ceramic or vinyl tile, carpet squares – full cases only
New vinyl sheet goods – 5’ x 8’ or larger
New carpet – 5’ x 8’ or larger
Area rugs –new or gently used

Sporting Goods

Quality electric folding treadmills, stationary bicycles, weight machines, iron weights
Camping equipment
Bicycles – functional only
General sporting goods

Cars

We participate in Cars for Homes™, a program of Habitat for Humanity International. Cars for Homes™ accepts cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, and construction equipment. Both running and non-running vehicles are accepted. Call us at 828-369-3716 to discuss your vehicle donation today.

What We Do Not Accept

Some items are not salable. Due to the high cost of handling and disposal we cannot accept the following items:
  • Baby or children’s items
  • Batteries
  • Can lights or fluorescent tube lights
  • Car Tires
  • Clothing
  • Commercial doors and Shower Doors
  • Disassembled particle board furniture
  • Executive or L shaped desks
  • Fuel cans; no antifreeze or motor oil
  • Items with mildew or mold
  • Kerosene Heaters
  • Liquids of any kind including: paint, cleaning chemicals, kerosene, gasoline,pesticides & solvents
  • Lumber and trim under 6 ft long Mattresses or box springs
  • Tube/projection/old style box TVs
  • Unframed mirrors and glass
  • Upholstered furniture with tears or stains
  • Valances over 6 ft. long

Not everyone qualifies for a New Home or our Home Repair Program. However, most homeowners are pleased to get good quality building products, appliances, furniture and housewares at a reasonable price that will allow them to make improvements to their homes and improve the quality of life for their family.
